Something to look forward to (and a special offer from us to you!)
The Digs Lodgings family, like most Australians, are holed up at home and only venturing out for necessities during this stressful Covid-19 period. As is the case with many businesses, tourism and hospitality has been dramatically affected and we miss welcoming Digs guests to stay at Digs Lodgings.
I want to say thank you to the amazing Digs Lodgings guests who had bookings with us and chose to receive a credit for a future booking as opposed to requesting a refund.
We will bounce back and as some guru once said, “this too shall pass”, however in the meantime we have a special offer for you and some tips until you can get back on the trails, what can you do to stay sane, keep active and have something to look forward to?
Something to look forward to:
Many of you had to cancel your upcoming MTB trip and we know how disappointing that is. It’s such a great feeling when you’ve planned your trip, spoken to your mates, locked in dates and then made the booking.
We want to give you that excitement back again, so we’ve come up with a special offer to give you something to look forward to when life returns to normal.

Places to stay in Warburton: Check out our new Digs
The Digs Lodgings family is excited to welcome the newest addition to our property portfolio, Warburton Digs. Located in the beautiful Victorian Yarra Ranges, Warburton is a fantastic spot for exploring, cycling and hiking in some of the state’s most beautiful countryside.
If you’re looking for places to stay in Warburton, you can’t go past Warburton Digs. We welcomed our first guests in late 2019 and loved seeing their photos and receiving fantastic feedback about their stays. Like all our properties, Warburton Digs has facilities to cater for families and mountain biking groups. The bike cleaning, maintenance and storage facilities will come in handy when the highly-anticipated Warburton Bike Park is built.
Impressive transformation in Derby
We love showing our behind-the-scenes footage, so we wanted to share some highlights from our second Derby renovation, Derby Digs Barn.
Built in 2018, Derby Digs Barn is just 50m from the trailhead and 300m from the main street of Derby. Fully self-contained, it comfortably sleeps 8 people, with two bedrooms downstairs and a third bedroom in the upstairs loft.
Schoolmasters Digs opens to rave reviews
The old schoolmasters’ residence right next door the Maydena Bike Park received a complete make over and opened for bookings. An exciting addition to the Digs Lodgings portfolio, Schoolmasters Digs has a brand new living area, new bathroom and laundry, and now has two bathrooms and two toilets making it perfect for large groups.
Comfortably catering for groups of up to 12 people, Schoolmasters house welcomed its first guests – a crew of 10 from Wollongong in NSW. Their feedback was overwhelming. They loved the location, the excellent amenities and attention to detail that goes into every Digs property.
With 4 bedrooms, a comfy lounge area and fireplace perfect for those chilly Tassie nights, Schoolmasters is the perfect base for your next mountainbiking adventure or family getaway to Maydena.
Digs Lodgings is very pleased to announce an exciting benefit for our guests.
Discount Car Rental with AutoRent Hertz for Digs Lodgings Guests
Travelling to Tasmania? Are you flying into Launceston to go to Derby or flying into Hobart to go to Maydena? A car or ute is a must. From personal experience, I can highly recommend the team at AutoRent Hertz. They have a huge selection of vehicles including utes and dual cab utes which are perfect for your mountain biking trip.
Derby Digs Cottage Renovations
If you’re looking for a place to stay in Derby just 50m from the trailhead, then you should check out Derby Digs Cottage. After a mammoth renovation, bookings commenced in July 2017. Since opening to guests, Derby Digs Cottage has received rave reviews and has had consistent bookings.
The renovations included the addition of one extra bedroom and ensuite, a laundry and a huge entertainment deck to take advantage of the awesome views of the Ringarooma River and the Blue Derby Trail Head. The whole interior got a modern facelift, resulting in a cosy, light-filled self-contained cottage. During our renovation it was important to us to contribute to the local economy, so we used the services of a local building designer, builder and tradespeople.
